Uncooked Cookies

Hello, hello, hello.

If I haven't mentioned this before, my late grandmother (Grandma "D") was really into cooking and baking. She was a girl so she kind of had to be, though. Anyways, before she died, her and my aunt Mel compiled a cookbook of all of her recipes, to give to each one of her kids. Inside, are recipes using chicken, soups, salads, ect. But, mostly it's all about the sweets. She raised four boys, so I can understand.

I've been trying to very slowly work my way through the cookies and squares section. When you look at the cookbook, truthfully, it's a little overwhelming.I mostly pull out the cookbook when my dad or brother asks me to.

I was looking through it one day, and I saw a recipe for "uncooked cookies". I thought that it would be pretty easy to make, and my dad loves them. Apparently, the "uncooked cookies" are actually just chocolate macaroons.

To the point: I made the chocolate macaroons and they are apparently very good (I haven't tried them yet).

Uncooked Cookies:

You Will Need:

 2 cups of brown sugar
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup of shortening
3 cups oatmeal (oats)
1 1/2 cups coconut
4 tbsp cocoa
1 tsp vanilla

#1: Bring brown sugar, milk, and shortening to a boil.
#2: Pour mixture over oats, cocoa, coconut, and vanilla. Stir well.
#3: Drop by teaspoons (balls) on waxed paper so they don't stick.
#4: Let cool until solid. Then, refrigerate.

That's your recipe of the day.
Keep reading, I'll keep blogging,

Candy Cups

Hola!

Today I am going to give to you a super easy recipe. I have made these candies before. They take like 10 minutes, only need two ingredients and are great little snacks.

You Will need:
White chocolate
Macadamia nuts ( sliced, chopped, whatever you want)

This recipe doesn't really have exact measurements or instructions. Basically,

#1: Pour the white chocolate chips into a microwaveable-safe bowl.

#2: Pour some macadamia nuts into the bowl as well. Preferably less than the chocolate.

#3: Microwave the mixture until the chocolate is melted ( microwave 30 sec. Microwave by 15 sec each time on). Be sure to stir occasionally.

#4: Drop spoons of the mixture into cupcake cups. Let cool until hard.
