Hey Peoples,
So this morning for breakfast I had a chocolate croissant. Homemade. I just buy the croissants from the store though, because they are insanely hard to bake!!!!! BUT... they are really yummy. Still. Then, I melt chocolate chips (preferably milk chocolate) in the microwave for 40 seconds (give or take). Then drizzle the chocolate over the croissants. Presto!!
Love ya,
Becca.

Make your own pizza night!!
Hey Peoples,
Tonight my Dad was really tired so he asked if we could make our own dinner. I love "make your own dinner" night Because I get to eat what I want. Tonight I was torn between making pasta or pizza. We had a bunch of stuff left over from make your own pizza night, so I amde pizza. I just made it on pita bread.
Now, with pizza you don't need a recipe, but here's what I put on my pizza:
- Pita Bread for the dough
- Pizza sauce
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Approximately 3 Sliced Mushrooms
- 3 Basil Leaves
Note: Theese measurments are for two pizzas
Now I hope I don't need to tell you how to make this pizza, but here's a really cool trick I learned for cutting up basil leaves.
#1: Layer the basil leaves on top of each other.
#2: Roll up the layered leaves the short way (horizontally).
#3: Thinly slice the rolled up basil to give you nice even strips.
This technique is perfect for dishes like pizza or casserole.
That is how you cut basil. That's probably it for today.
Love ya,
Becca.

Chocolate Chip Heaven
Hi Peoples,
Yesterday I was Baking (finally)! I have a real passion for baking, but since I started this blog, I have found I have a real passion for cooking too. But I do love baking!
Anyways, I have been told that I bake the BEST chocolate chip cookies. I personally, think that there is too much butter in them.
I haven't quite got the baking part right. Now, I got this recipe from my mom. She was a great cook! I think all moms are awesome cooks. It comes with the job! I am not telling you my not-so-secret recipe though. I say that if you bake often enough, you can find the perfect recipe and call that your secret recipe.
Now, I need to go and eat some cookies before they are all gone!!
Love Ya,
Becca.

Photos
Hey peoples,
I am astonished. Today we took the pictures at school for the yearbook (groups and clubs). I missed like my entire science period!! Yay!!! I am apparently in 5 groups at school. 5!!!! I do kindergarten helpers, student council, We day team, cantors, and silver birch reading. The funny thing is I didn't even realize. Last year I was in 0 clubs. I don't have an immediate group of friends so I didn't really like recess that much, and I would do anything to stay in. But I actually started to like doing them. It's kinda funny.
Whatever.
Whatever.
Night,
Becca
Ratatouille
F.Y.I. I am writing this in present tense of last night. I didn't even have time to start a blog last night.
Hey Peoples,
So, as usual, I am over at my grandma's house for my weekly sleepover. Tonight we had ratatouille and pasta. I am not gonna bother posting a pic because it is a really bad pic. Ratatouille is a french dish normally served with pasta or bread. It was a tough call because I love pasta and bread so much. Anyways. Ratatouille is baisically layers of vegetables in a tomato sauce all cooked in the oven with melted cheese on the top (mozzarella preferably). I must say: It was weird. It was good... but weird. Grandma asked me if I have ever had ratatouille before. I said that I haven't but I've seen the movie. OK. Totally off topic here but, I love that movie because it's all about cooking!!!! I see myself as the rat because he is loves to cook. I am now going to stop going on and on about ratatouille.
Love ya,
Becca

1,2,3...Pesto!!!!!!
Hi,
I had no time to blog last night. I had to get ready for my track meet. But I took a picture!!
The fam was having kebobs last night. I didn't reallly want to eat that. So I made pasta for me-self. I was originally just gonna put some butter on it and lots of cheese, but I then saw that we had in our cupbord...
PESTO!!!!!! I <3 pesto. So I decide to make fettucinni and pesto. It was delicious.
Here's how I simply made it.
You will need:
- Fettucinni (will work with any pasta though)
- Pesto from a jar.
- Large pot
- Strainer or colander.
#1: Fill large pot with water. Bring to a boil.
#2: Once water is boiling drop the pasta in. Best way is to hold pasta in clump in pot and let go, so it all evens out.
#3: Cook pasta. start tasting the pasta after 5 min. (I like mine soft but chewy through the center. In Italy they call this al dente, meaning: to the tooth.)
#4: Strain the pasta in a colander or strainer. Do not rinse the pasta.
#5: Once strained, pour in and stir the pesto.
#6: Viola!! It is done and tasty!!!!

Happy Birthday Tessa!!!!
Hey Peoples,
First of all: I would like to dedicate to days blog to... My sister Tessa because it is her birthday( Day of Narcissism ) and she is extravagant!!! For Tessa's Birthday we had dinner at my Grandma's house. She is a great home style cook, and made lemon pasta for Tessa's big day. I love lemon pasta it is truly wonderful. It's the subtle hints of the garlic, onion, lemon, and Parmesan that make this dish as simple and delicious as it sounds. I don't quite have the exact recipe from my Grandma, but her is what I picked up:
You Will Need:
Some Onion
Some Garlic
Some Fettuccine
A Lemon
LOTS of Parmesan Cheese
P.S. This is not the fancy way of saying it.
#1: Chop The onion into small pieces. Crush the garlic. Shred off the skin of the lemon. Shred the parm.
#2: Fry the onion and garlic in a sauce pan. once fried, add in the skin of the lemon. Fry and stir.
#3: Cook the pasta. I hope you know how to do that.
#4: Once everything is cooked and fried, mix it all up in a warm bowl.
#5: mix the Parm in with the pasta really well.
#6: Serve with pride.
I hope this sorta helped you out or gave you some cool ideas.
Remember: Cooking is all experimenting and what tastes good to you.
Love ya,
Becca
P.S. Thank you to Uncle John for giving us his recipe for lemon pasta. You Rock!!!

Special Tribute To Gala Darling
Hey Peoples,
Today we had this folk dance presentation. They choreographed this number to "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga. It made me think about how much I love the song and the whole message of it.

Hope you enjoy!

I'm an Angel!!
Hey,
Today me and Tessa went to Angel's Diner for brunch. I used to go there all the time when I was in kindergarten. I would go to school in the afternoon, but in the morning, I would go to ballet class and then my grandparents would take me out to breakfast. My sister was SO jealous!!! AHAHA!!!! Anyways, we went there for breakfast... at lunch time. I had The Sunrise Special. I had two scrambled eggs and two pancakes and two slices of toast and two sausages and two strips of bacon and homefries. Tessa had eggs benedict on a RAW english muffin. It was disgusting!!!! EEEEEWWWW!!!!!!! Anyways, now we are hanging with the grandparents. We're probably gonna go soon though. I have to be home for dinner with the Sophie, Jordan, Kevin, Mel, and Kerry.
Keep on laughing,
Becca.
