Skor Bars

Item Three of my Christmas Baking Frenzy was Skor Bars.

I love these so much!! They're so good. Skor Bars are super easy to make and taste delicious!!

Skor Bars

You Will Need:
tin foil
soda crackers
1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips
1 cup of butter
3/4 cups of brown sugar
1/2 cups of sliced almonds

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Line cookie sheet with tin foil. Cover the cookie sheet with 1 layer of soda crackers.

Melt butter and brown sugar in saucer on stove top. Mix Well (constantly so it doesn't burn).

Pour butter mixture over soda crackers so the crackers are covered completely.

Bake 15 minutes, but check after 10 minutes.

Spread chocolate chips over crackers once the crackers are out of the oven. Let melt.
Once melted, use a knife to spread the chocolate more evenly across the crackers.

Top with sliced almonds. let cool.

Brake/cut apart the Skor Bars into pieces and store in the fridge or freezer.

Enjoy!

Combine flour baking powder and salt in seperate bowl. Graduall add to the creamed mixture and beat until blended.

Form the dough into 2 balls and store in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator overnight.

When ready, heat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly butter cookie sheets. Allow dough to warm slightly so it can be easily rolled.

Baking powder biscuits

I have finally gotten around to making baking powder biscuits. Applause*.

This is the very first recipe I have made out of my mix master cookbook!

Baking Powder Biscuits

You Will Need:
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 3 tablespoons of shortening
- about 3/4 cups of milk.

#1: Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Grease baking sheet.

#2: Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into medium bowl. Using pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in enough milk to make a soft dough.

#3: Turn out onto lightly floured counter. Knead dough lightly. Roll out 1/2-inch thick.

#4: Cut biscuit rounds with 2-inch cutter. Place on greased baking sheet.

#5: Bake 8-10 minutes or until browned.

Well, there you go. This recipe is surprisingly easy.
Tip: biscuits are best straight out of the oven. Cover with tinfoil to keep warm.
Enjoy!
