Baking powder biscuits

I have finally gotten around to making baking powder biscuits. Applause*.

This is the very first recipe I have made out of my mix master cookbook!

Baking Powder Biscuits

You Will Need:
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 3 tablespoons of shortening
- about 3/4 cups of milk.

#1: Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Grease baking sheet.

#2: Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into medium bowl. Using pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in enough milk to make a soft dough.

#3: Turn out onto lightly floured counter. Knead dough lightly. Roll out 1/2-inch thick.

#4: Cut biscuit rounds with 2-inch cutter. Place on greased baking sheet.

#5: Bake 8-10 minutes or until browned.

Well, there you go. This recipe is surprisingly easy.
Tip: biscuits are best straight out of the oven. Cover with tinfoil to keep warm.
Enjoy!
Becca.
