Candy Cane Cookies

Today was the first day of my Christmas cooking!!!!! *claps*

Me and my grandma made candy cane cookies and decorated sugar cookies. Candy cane cookies are a great way to use your sugar cookie dough.

Sugar Cookie Dough

You Will Need:

1/2 cup of butter
1 cup of granulated sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of milk
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/4 teaspoons of salt

Cream butter. Add sugar and beat until lightly fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Add vanilla and milk, beat until combined.

Combine flour baking powder and salt in seperate bowl. Graduall add to the creamed mixture and beat until blended.

Form the dough into 2 balls and store in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator overnight.

When ready, heat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly butter cookie sheets. Allow dough to warm slightly so it can be easily rolled.
